Does Stygian: Outer Gods support Steam cloud saves?

Yes. The developer’s April 2025 performance patch announcement says cloud saves were enabled. That confirms the feature was added during Early Access. It does not guarantee that every local file is synced at every moment or that synchronization fixes a damaged save, so verify the Steam client’s current sync status before switching devices.

Can players choose save and load slots?

A later May update expanded the number of save slots and introduced manual selection of a save or load slot. This is separate from Steam cloud synchronization. The announcement does not specify unlimited slots, backup retention or where every save file is stored; avoid treating the new selection controls as a replacement for a separate backup.

Why keep a backup before major updates?

The developer warned that Brasko beta saves could become unpredictable or corrupt. At 1.0 it again advised a fresh playthrough even though older Early Access saves remained usable. Neither warning means all old saves are broken, but both justify preserving a copy before experimenting with a different branch or version.
